This Month's e-Health Tip:

Oh, Soy!

There are more ways to get heart-healthy soyfoods than carving up a block of wiggly white tofu. The crunchy soy snacks we include in our food baskets are low in calories and cholesterol, but high in taste and healthiness.

  • Soyfoods are high in fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals - and low in cholesterol.
  • They also have with no artery-clogging saturated fats.

This makes them a perfect fit for the new American Heart Association (AHA) revision of their Diet and Lifestyle Recommendations. The revised recommendations emphasize eating foods high in fiber and using vegetable-based substitutes, leaner animal products and fish in order to reduce saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol in the diet -- reducing the risk of heart disease.

The AHA also recognizes the potential benefits of replacing meat/dairy protein with soy protein in lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL, the "bad" cholesterol). This is especially important for individuals those high cholesterol levels put them at higher risk for heart disease.

That's why we include really tasty soy crisps in our baskets. Order now to give a hearty-healthy boost to someone you care about.
